WeTheNorth — WTN for short — has been online since 2021. That makes it the oldest market we cover. The name's a Toronto Raptors slogan and the marketing isn't subtle: WTN is built for Canadian buyers. Most vendors ship domestically inside Canada, which dodges the customs roulette of international packages.
The interface runs in English and French, and the French isn't an afterthought. Vendor messages, policy pages, dispute screens all come in proper bilingual versions. If you read French this matters. If you don't, it doesn't get in your way. Either way, the audience focus is real.
Bitcoin and Monero. Monero by default. Bitcoin for vendor compatibility. No native Ethereum or Litecoin — what you see in the deposit flow is what WTN actually settles in. Confirmation times are standard: a few blocks for BTC, around ten for XMR which is roughly twenty minutes.
On phishing, the captcha shows the real onion baked into the image. A clone site can't fake that without holding the operator's key. Add the banner at the top of every page with the canonical address, plus the Dread account where mirror updates show up signed with PGP. Three checks, less than a minute combined. People still skip them. People still lose money to phishing.
What are the WeTheNorth (WTN) onion addresses?
WeTheNorth, conventionally abbreviated WTN, runs three v3 hidden-service endpoints:
- 01 hn2paw7zadwkcra3qzv5e4q547i7e5lvxm62cfxqftuqdu7moiu2ceyd.onion
- 02 hn2paw7zfvndw3dovycegeqmvvnf4pl67b3g2p7pohjlzavloosh73id.onion
- 03 hn2paw7zrgujyhnt6mgxlt2q6uhgbke4itpqitxhyfbumq3wtnckbuyd.onion
All three resolve to the same back-end. Use whichever your Tor circuit reaches; the same login works across all of them.
Vanity prefix
All three addresses start with the same eight-character prefix (hn2paw7z). That is an operator-chosen vanity, not a coincidence — but it is also why partial-prefix matching is not enough to verify an address. Verify the full 56-character string against the operator’s PGP-signed announcement on Dread.
How to access WeTheNorth via Tor
Open Tor Browser, paste any of the three addresses above into the URL bar, hit enter. All three resolve to the same backend so your login and balance carry across whichever one loads. If one address slows down or stops loading, try another. WTN has no clearnet presence — anything that appears on Google as 'WeTheNorth' is either a directory page or a phishing clone.

Which currencies does WeTheNorth (WTN) accept?
WeTheNorth settles in Bitcoin and Monero.
BTC XMR
Monero is the privacy default. Bitcoin is accepted for vendor compatibility. There is no native Litecoin or Ethereum support on WTN at this time.
Confirmation timing
Bitcoin credits after about two confirmations. Monero takes around ten blocks, which is roughly twenty minutes. The deposit panel shows pending balances live as confirmations roll in. There's nothing WTN-specific in the deposit flow — it's the standard Tor-market workflow that's been stable across this segment for years.
Wallet recommendations
For Monero, use the official Monero GUI or CLI with --proxy 127.0.0.1:9050 so the wallet itself talks to a remote node over Tor, or use Feather Wallet which has Tor built in. For Bitcoin, any non-custodial wallet that gives you the seed phrase is fine. Exchange-custodial wallets are not appropriate for darknet deposits because the exchange logs every transaction.

Why is WeTheNorth (WTN) focused on Canadian buyers?
The marketplace name is borrowed from a Toronto Raptors slogan. The audience focus is in the name. WTN has been bilingual English/French since launch and most vendors ship domestically within Canada.
What that means in practice
Vendor messages, policy pages and dispute screens carry parallel French copy — not a thin translation layer. Shipping defaults to Canada-only; a Canadian buyer transacting on WTN largely avoids the customs-roulette risk that comes with international parcels on cross-border markets.
For non-Canadian buyers
You can use WTN from anywhere on Tor; the login does not care where you are. But most listings will not ship to you. International vendors do exist on WTN but are the minority. See which Tor markets have a French interface for related options.
