WeTheNorth — WTN for short — has been online since 2021. That makes it the oldest market we cover. The name's a Toronto Raptors slogan and the marketing isn't subtle: WTN is built for Canadian buyers. Most vendors ship domestically inside Canada, which dodges the customs roulette of international packages.
The interface runs in English and French, and the French isn't an afterthought. Vendor messages, policy pages, dispute screens all come in proper bilingual versions. If you read French this matters. If you don't, it doesn't get in your way. Either way, the audience focus is real.
Bitcoin and Monero. Monero by default. Bitcoin for vendor compatibility. No native Ethereum or Litecoin — what you see in the deposit flow is what WTN actually settles in. Confirmation times are standard: a few blocks for BTC, around ten for XMR which is roughly twenty minutes.
On phishing, the captcha shows the real onion baked into the image. A clone site can't fake that without holding the operator's key. Add the banner at the top of every page with the canonical address, plus the Dread account where mirror updates show up signed with PGP. Three checks, less than a minute combined. People still skip them. People still lose money to phishing.
